Design and hand stitch a small piece featuring favorite animal images from Sue’s book Folk-Tails. This small study workshop is presented as a three day creative design class, allowing each participant’s piece to be unique. Learn layering techniques, using simple stitches and fabrics for creating a textured background. Next, create your own unique small piece, drawing inspiration from the charming and whimsical animal images that tell the story in Folk-Tails. Last, but not least…embellish your piece, layering with hand dyed wool, silk velvet, silk, linen, and cotton fabrics. Experiment with a variety of speciality threads, exploring stitches and stitch combinations that add incredible depth and texture to your work. The finished piece makes the perfect centerpiece for a unique folk-art inspired cushion, tote, or small wall piece.
