2 Days - Monday, July 5 & Tuesday, July 6, 2021 Level: Intermediate Size: Wall Hanging
Zoom Meeting: Monday & Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Pacific Time Zone
This workshop focuses on the use of printed fabrics to create motion, shape and texture in pictorial quilts. Based on traditional patchwork piecing methods, these Artisan flower patterns combine the visual elements found in fabrics with the design idea of gesture to create striking quilts. You will choose from among Ann Shaw’s Artisan flower designs (Daylily, Summer’s Smile, and Bird of Paradise) to create a spectacular pieced pictorial wall hanging. A brief description introduces the design method. You will then prepare a freezer paper template for your pattern and begin the process of selecting fabrics for your design. Ann will also discuss sewing methods and sewing order to complete your wall hanging.
Pattern Required: Choose Summer’s Smile, Daylily or Bird of Paradise pattern from Ann Shaw’s Artisan series. Patterns available from the Stitchin’ Post
