Infinity Fan is a contemporary design, inspired by a traditional grandmother’s fan quilt owned by quilt scholar Merikay Waldvogel. Sarah made this version in scrappy strips with a tomato red background, to emulate the original. The construction is a very simple paper piecing technique on a curved or straight paper foundation. You can make this quilt, or design your own in any size and any configuration. This quilt is made up of 64 blocks – 40 curved fans and 24 straight sections. Sarah is experimenting with other designs in different sizes that still give this never ending feel.
